Where Can I Print Color Documents

Note: This FAQ discusses printing in color at SUNY Purchase College, on public Xerox printers in the Purchase College Library's labs. This does not apply to press from a personal printer or to printers outside Purchase College.

The library has several color printers:​

  • 2 big format color printers in the DMZ on the master floor (Macs & PCs)
  • 2 large format colour printers in the Reference Area on the chief floor (PCs only)
  • 1 big format color printer in Lab 1004C (PCs)
  • 1 big format color printer in Lab 1004D (PCs)

There's a play a trick on to press in colour: Y'all must select the colour printer in the print menu AND make sure the certificate is fix to impress in color under "Printer Properties."  (Nearly of the fourth dimension, the color printers default to "color" as the output).

The proper name and location of "Printer Properties" or "Printer Options" may differ depending on what software application you are using. When in doubtfulness, look for terms like "properties," "options," "printer features," or "xerox features."

Follow the steps beneath to print in color on a PC or a Mac.

PC Instructions (for DMZ, Reference Area, 1004C, 1004D):

If using Microsoft Word, Publisher, or Power Point:

i. Go to File> Print.  Select DMZ_Color or Reference_Xerox_Color (or 1004C Printer or 1004D Printer) from the list of printers.

2. Click onPrinter Properties under the printer name.

3. Navigate to the Press Options tab. Look at the bottom for Output Color.  If you wish to print in colour, make sure that Coloris selected from this carte. Click OK.

iv. Back on the principal print screen,  click the Printbutton.  The CTS dialog box "Print Job Notification" appears. Verify one last time that you've selected the colour printer, and so click Impress. You're adept to go!

If using Microsoft Photo Viewer, yous have to click Options to get to Printer Backdrop:

Mac Instructions (DMZ, 1004B):

If using Microsoft Word, Power Signal, etc.:

one. Go to File>Impress. Select DMZ_Color or 1004B Printer 1 or 1004B Printer 2 from the listing of printers

4. Below the Xerox Features menu, choose  Color Optionsfrom the next dropdown menu. Select  Automatic Color  nether Colour Correction.   (This should be the default for the DMZ and 1004B Color printers. Bright Color will work likewise.)

5. Next, click Print.

 vi. The CTS dialog box "Print Job Notification" appears. Verify ane last time that you've selected the color printer, then click Print.  You're proficient to become!
